  1.  @SerpentM52  if that was true super light F1 cars would stop at higher distances vs such heavy EVs (with about the same brakes) yet they clearly don't.

  2. The simplest car I remember was the Greek Pony (out of a Citroen design). Look for it. Basically a square box out of tin with 4 wheels and 2-4 seats. It sold well because it was practical and it lasted relatively well but that was many decades ago. Now everyone needs a screen and cruise control.

  3.  @SerpentM52  The hypothesis is "all things equal" (except from vehicle weight). Lighter will always beat heavier in braking tests.

  4.  @SerpentM52  the act of braking is compressing suspension and does exactly what you are describing at the tire contact patch (it enlarges it). The less momentum forward a vehicle has, which of course is dependent on mass and speed, the easier it is to stop. I think we agree on that.
