@Velocity10381 , maybe you should put yourself in the shoes of the beheaded first. A religious person can still get offended, a beheaded one...not so much.

That's because your history was not shaped by Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau, Montaigne. There's a reson it's been called the age of Enlightnement. You most probably don't even know what I'm talking about.

@jhsemoxitha3821 , google the Age of Enlightenment or the Age of Reason, the other name. It basically covers all of the 18-th century.

@mdzahidhusain4403 i'm pretty sure muslims do not come to research the west. I know quite a few who live off benefits hardly knowing the language of the country even after 10+ years. I believe pakistanis in particular have become quite proficient at this game.

If freedom of speech is limited in any way, it is not "freedom" anymore by definition. If you feel offended for a million reasons that only you can think of, fine, in secular France of the 21st century you have the court. Take the offender to court not behead him like a caveman.

Christians are mature enough to step over insults directed at Jesus. Please, feel free and nobody will behead you. That's the difference between Islam and Christianity. End of story.

@jhsemoxitha3821 , I suggest you read on it because it is too vast a subject to adequately describe in a comment. I'll just say that it was one of the major defining periods in the history of the Western thought alongside with Renaissance and Reformation. France was particularly impacted as most of the thinkers were French.
