@JamieAlban , kind of a slow walk if you have time to climb the scaffolding and a wall with a flag, wouldn't you say?

Those jerks with the palestinian flag climbed scaffolding at Mount Sinai, not any other hospital. Stop lying.

There is a catch doing only the cases per capita math. We have to take in account the number of tests per capita they do and, surprise, they do only 25% of what we do in CA and about 15% of what US does. And our population density is ridiculous compared to theirs. I just took the worldometers's numbers and divided the number of tests by the cases. Every 26th test is positive in CA vs every 16th in India. Now think if India did 4-5 times the tests they do now, they'd easily go over a million/day.

+ political rallies and festivals

@BudandBloomWithBlossom , I suspect cases are much higher in the cities where density is obviously higher but how many tests trickle down to the countryside if there aren't enough even for the cities.

The math is right but you forget to account for their low testing. They tested FOUR times less per capita ytd than we did and 2-3 tmes less per day (I got last days stats through wordometers). And I just did the math, every 26th test in CA results positive while it's every 16th in India which is in itself an indication of how much the situation is direr in India (it's every 13th in the USA). Now if we tested as little as India we'd get only about 2-3000 cases. US and UK tested so far 7 and 10 times more per capita than India. Now think if India tested 4 times as much or 10.

So climbing the walls of the hospital with a palestinian flag is Ok then? Shouting and making a ruckus beneath a sign which says "Hospital. Quiet!" is not evidence?
2
Funny how in your "unbiased" book those jerks climbing the scaffolding at Mount Sinai with a palestinian flag is clearly "no indication that they were protesting or interacting with the hospital at all". Let's be clear and not muddy the waters, eh?

US tests 10 times as much. So double is a gross underestimation.

It probably started the same as elsewhere, it's just that they do very little tests in India, if you check their numbers, it's 5 to 10 times less than the West. And it goes without saying that if you do 0 tests you have no cases at all, like in N. Korea, Turkmenistan and some African countries.
1
The obvious solution would be to cut testing by 10.

It's 50-50. Either India will win or the COVID.

I can't but marvel at the singular simple-mindedness of you lot. To anyone with a basic understanding of how a first-world country runs it is obvious that even being near a hospital with a political agenda is a major no-no, let alone climbing it with a flag like you would a palm tree in your home country. And yet, here you are, sand still on your sandals, bringing your ancestral habits with your to the first world. Amazingly simple minds.
1
Considering that they do 5 to 10 times less tests than the West the situation has to be much much worse. Rallies and festivals just add gas to the fire.

@jeffreymather4828 , it doesn't take a virologist to ban politcal rallies and festivities like Holi and Kumbh mela. My cat is smart enough to know that.

what a surprise

Apparently if a family member dies you have to be at his funeral pyre to pay respects and whatnot to make sure you'll be reincarnated in a decent shape/caste whatever. So many of them went to India in Jan-March and now are or were until yesterday coming back with this new 1b variant. What is our safety here and now compared to their next life's status?
