@TheDinergirl08 you need to go back and make up that quarter. 40 is 40, not 39. That’s the rules for everyone, not just you.

If you have been affected by WEP you would know it there’s no need to go in and apply, your SS will be automatically adjusted. You do however had to be eligible to collect social security to begin with, someone mentioned that they don’t have enough quarters — you have to have at least 40 quarters to be eligible. And as I recall it goes back to Jan of 24. It will affect the social security by shortening it by about 6 months. More damage to the trust would be done by the millions trump plans to send back who pay into the trust but don’t benefit from it shortening it much further.

A shout out to Unions because they were key in keeping this fight alive since the mid 80s when Regan instituted it. There’s only one party working to screw over Unions, people with Medicare and trying to privatize social security (that’s been since Regan as well).

Of course he was also the one who started trickle down economics which the repubs love and seem to be effective in convincing the middle and working poor it’s good for them.

@angelahoward6256 if they put into it they should get it …. Just because you manage your money well shouldn’t mean you don’t get what your entitled to. No one should have been relying on just their social security for retirement. It was always meant just to be a supplement.
