  5. Sayit AsItIs With the rise of national populism worldwide I'm hoping that we're moving away from the liberal consensus. It's heartening to see the likes of Rudd, Morgan, Stewart etc walking away from the Conservative Party. That suggests the political tide has turned and that hopefully that party is rediscovering its sense of national pride and purpose. If not a new political force a bit further to the right. But I like Nigel, Tice, and s few others and I saw Michelle Dewberry talking about joining, so maybe there's something there. We'll have to see, but the direction of travel is heartening, there are a lot of problems to sort out.

The Brexit party does not have any ministerial experience it's a pressure group not a party capable of running a government. Ukip even more so. The Tories are the main game in town tor people of a right-ish viewpoint. Boris has had every single political hurdle put in front of him.And to a degree he's managed some success but he is fighting all the opposition parties, the speaker, the civil service and the likes of Gina Miller backed by bankers and Soros. Yes, he failed to get us out by the 31st but people like you just want to put the boot in because he couldn't defeat the deep establishment. Your verdict is the simplistic vision of the malcontent.

Sayit AsItIs So in the Brexit party you have Claire Fox, great lady, an atheistic Communist, Anne Widdecombe, a devout Christian Right Winger, and a cross section of society who all agree on one policy. That is not a coherent party with an ideology to run the economy, transport, NHS, the armed forces and education policy. They will be controlled by the civil service due to their lack of ministerial experience. To just say Suzanne Evans wrote a great manifesto is not the same as saying here is a Party ready to run a country.

  10. Sayit AsItIs To some degree I agree with you but the civil service will tear political virgins apart if they get into power. As it is 'Whitehall Mandarins' represent the deep state, they believe their role is to 'guide' ministers down what they believe is the right route for the country and influence policy making. In one way this can provide continuity, in another it seeks to redirect policy in a way that bypasses democracy. That's why I'd be very cautious about having non seasoned politicians in the important jobs. Somehow we need to change the entire ethos of the civil service to actually change the system. And that would be a major task. An obvious example would be Europe, the CS are probably more loyal to the EU than Britain. That needs to change. But identifying the problem and fixing it are two separate things. The Brexit party has no coherent philosophy other than getting out of Europe, we need a proper right wing party to take us forward.
