  1. The public supported Brexit on the basic assumption that the Tories would be competent enough to do something with it. Few people realised that the Conservative's unique combination of incompetence and fear of actual decision making would doom the whole thing to failure. At the moment we are neither in nor out, the worst of both worlds. On the upside, it has illustrated that the Conservative Party is functionally dead. It's been running round like a headless chicken for years, totally incapable of deciding which side of the centre it belongs in. We can see quite clearly now that it is a pale shade of red and absolutely wedded to the Progressive cause. And we don't need 3 duplicate parties. Which means the Conservative party requires a trip to the Tavistock Clinic for reassignment surgery as a proper right of centre party. The Goves, Hancocks, Johnsons, Hunts all have to go and someone like Lee Anderson, a real Conservative, made leader. Which would normally be unthinkable as he is not a former Eton and Oxford alumni, but look at where those people have taken us. Time for a new start. With new ideas.
