I'm always wary when I hear Labour activists talking about 'fairness' in society. How is that possible? Is a beautiful woman meant to avoid making herself look attractive in order that a plain Jane isn't upset? But suppose plain Jane is extremely clever? Does she have to play dumb so as not to upset the low IQ members of society? That's the problem. Nowhere in nature is anything 'fair' and the pursuit of fairness is a pointless and unachievable task. People have to be left to their own efforts, with a safety net for those incapable of doing so but stop trying to micro manage society.

Choleric Melancholic Exactly. The political landscape has changed. Instead of Left vs Right, it's now Globalist vs Patriot. And no political party is representing the ordinary patriotic Brit. We thought Conservatives were patriotic but we've discovered that most Conservatives believe in nothing but power, Major's '2nd Tier' speech revealed what he thinks about Britain. I'm sure the msm will do everything possible to prevent Farage's party getting a fair hearing, but word of mouth and the internet will work, you can't hold back an idea when the time is right. That's where we can all do our bit, I think, draw people's attention to what's going on, promote his party, donate. Without wishing to sound too much like a conspiracy theorist, this 'Build Back Better' mantra I keep hearing sounds very much like a One World government policy. I find that a bit sinister.

I'm sick of the Left's constant appeal to emotional arguments. You will never have a fair society because people are all different. Give everyone a fair chance but don't try to gerrymander outcomes, we need to strive, struggle and advance ourselves, the Left want to treat us like children and remove what makes everyone special in different ways.

Choleric Melancholic This is my concern about female politicians and the current feminising of politics. It seems politicians these days are terrified of being accused of lacking empathy. I don't need to see them weeping for the poor, I just want to see them being efficient and effective.

Choleric Melancholic Whatever people think about Mrs Thatcher, she was a leader, willing to be hated in pursuit of a better country. Look at Boris, an overblown verbose public schoolboy. He's not fit to shine Churchill's slippers. Leadership requires bravery and beliefs, with the exception of Nigel I see very few politicians willing to go against the grain. The current crop are a very poor lot, just careerists.

Choleric Melancholic Well, I think the myth of Conservative competence has been blown away. The idea of 'solid fiscal principles ' as an antidote to Labour's extravagance has surely been blown away. I'm wondering if, in the scheme of things, this is the perfect storm for a new party headed by Nigel and the impressive Richard Tyce. I also think that the era of Eton et al as a production line for polished but vacuous career politicians is coming to an end.
