I suspect it's a consequence of a subset of people being told, "Learn to code," when they were thrown out of work as baristas a few years ago.

Core, no problem at all. I am reading other comments asking this same question, with replies saying that it's all over the Discord server. But since I have never seen it in any interaction with Mint's staff in HexChat when I have looked for help with issues, then I figure that is just the Universal fact of all of Discord being trash.

All of Discord is trash. Just accept that as Universal fact, and leave it. Nothing good can come of going to/using Discord.

I can only think, "This is a consequence of people saying, 'Learn to code,' when vast numbers of people were thrown out of work. The people prone to believing that the people saying it were knowledgeable and successful role models perhaps led to those easily convinced and prone to being self-righteous learning to code . . . badly . . . and with inadequate concern for the usefulness of their work-product.

@Mamiya645 Ah . . . that is the link I was missing! Out-of-work, school is closed, stay at home and moderate, work upwards by being available, and bring in your friends to support creating echo-chambers!

@GoldenGrenadier Arch was the very first answer that came to mind. Way too gruff and serious about getting things to work to have patience and tolerance for anyone who isn't either contributing to things working or honest and committed to at least figuring out why something doesn't work! It's been years since I tried to spin up an Arch install, like a decade, and I hear that the Wkis have come a long way . . . .

I remember some great games but serious limitations to the Unreal Engine, played a lot of UFO: AI 15-17 years ago! The big one was non-destructable objects, like walls, since UFO: Alien Invasion was modeled on UFO: [something] Defense, a DOS/early Windows game.
