You have subjected to Skynews misinformation. Our warships are equipped with RIM 162 evolved sea sparrow SAM. These are the exact same missiles that US warships have been using to shoot down Houthi drones.

@Koala63211 Factually incorrect. ANZAC class frigates are armed with RIM 162 evolved sea sparrow SAM. These are the exact same missiles US warships have used to shoot down Houthi drones. As well the Seahawk helicopters have Hellfire ASM, more than capable of taking out Houthi boats. The RAN has its own refueling capability.

I have no idea why Sky allow idiotheads on to comment about things they clearly know nothing about. Secondly our warships have Seahawk helicopters which are armed with Hellfire ASM.

@braxxian Well as the government says we have our own regional security issues. Secondly not only has France and Italy committed warships. The US led multi national task group which includes the UK and numerous other nations warships has more than enough to complete the task.

@RiaKing-vg6hz That's a fair point. I'm sure the RN has a relief in place plan for their warships. Australia has had a warship on station in the Gulf on anti piracy and security duties for the best part of 20 years, only ending 3 years ago. So we have pulled our weight. We have our own regional security issues and a significantly bigger coastline than the UK, but I take your point. If this thing with the Houthis goes on, then perhaps our government will reassess. The Suez is a world trade issue, and you are correct. We all need to be involved. Hopefully, Mr Tomahawk will be paying the Houthis a visit in the not to distant future.
