  2. The fact is the government does not take your money. Superannuation funds are held in a range of private funds, from industry super funds to retail funds to SMSF. Superannuation generally is invested over a wide range of asset types from shares, to property, to cash, and as an individual you have some say in the investment strategy of your money. Generally the investment returns are positive but as is all things economic subject to the world economy. What was completely factually wrong was your childlike description of Superannuation.
