@atillathehungry3145 while not disputing your facts, the Dutch knew about the principles of telescopes in the late 16th century. The mechanics of steam power go back to the first century and in Egypt in the 14th century. The inspiration for the winnowing machine came from ancient Chinese texts from 80BCE. None of these inventions were in isolation. So thankyou for emphasising my point. Indigenous Australians did invent some things in isolation including the woomera, a water carry bag, vegetation control and numerous native bush and flower medicines. You were quite correct with your response but your initial comment completely lacked any context. It was if you were trying to be condescending. Me I’m quite open about my condescension.
