The LNP had 9 years in government to change the law it itself legislated and somehow its Labor fault. Can you explain the logic of that. Also nuclear power has never been Labor policy, so why would you expect Labor to change the law, again can you explain the logic of your comment?

@abbeystump If the LNP win (certainly a possibility) then yes they may introduce the legislation required, however it will need to pass both houses (problematic). Then you are going to have to get the respective state governments on side many of which have their own legislation banning nuclear power. This is partly why the CSIRO estimates the time it will take to actually build a PWR in Australia. It’s called a democracy.

Classic strawman. Carlin was a clever comedian, but if quoting a carny is your idea of an argument then the proponents of renewable energy have you beaten.

@awc900 Yes i completely agree as probably other Labor politicians do. However it has never been Labor policy and in fact they were very reluctant to allow uranium mining. The plan to transition to renewables/storage with gas firming is achievable.

@abbeystump Yes, in the US where a nuclear industry already exists. Google are taking a gamble, it's what private capital is good at and perfectly entitled to, its their money.
