The federal government received a report/warning several months in advance. It was from experts who warned the government that the 2019/20 fire season would be catastrophic and it needed to divert resources. It ignored the report and did nothing.

@buildmotosykletist1987 It could have had a national response ready and resourced, instead of the panicked reaction that eventuated. Federal resources could have been provided to the states, particularly in the case of aircraft platforms.

@buildmotosykletist1987 You don't read well do you. What was required was significantly more resources. Yes a fleet of aircraft was available. It wasn't sufficient. The government was warned it didn't react appropriately.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Additional resources could have been spent on training and equipment. Resources could have been centralised and used at targeted fires. Centralised planning could have provided efficiencies in resource allocations. Instead in a panic a National emergency was called and the ADF brought in.

@buildmotosykletist1987 I haven't got a clue what report you are referring to, but the Royal commission into the 2019/20 Bushfires most definitely never said that and its recommendations didn't reflect your claim whatsoever.

@buildmotosykletist1987 And the Royal commission on numerous occasions recommends more federal coordination.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Numerous Senior fire officers advised the Morrison government in March 2019 and again in May. (This is incorrect, my memory was wrong it was April 2019)

@buildmotosykletist1987 To be specific the federally funded Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC issued warnings in August of 2019. Prior to that in April a group of former Fire chiefs had issued a warning as well and had called for a meeting with the Emergency minister.

@buildmotosykletist1987 WTF are you talking about. I quoted the report and the advice. As well the Royal Commission report into the Bushfires contradicts your claim about the air assets entirely. All you did was accept the first article you read when you googled. Pathetic.

Nowhere in the Royal Commission report into the 2019/20 Bushfires does it state the greenies have taken over the RFS. The report does highlight some practices and recommends some further changes in fuel management procedures.
