Comments by "" (@pwillis1589) on "‘Nonsense’: Andrew Bolt ‘wary’ of Senator Payman’s decisions for leaving Labor" video.
It’s not a $450000 allowance. She gets a $310 a day accommodation allowance when Parliament is sitting. Like dozens of other politicians both Labor, green, national and Liberal they own investment properties in Canberra.

I’m not sure if you understand, but to be elected into the Federal senate she must be an Australian citizen only.

@patchan1467 So since the previous debacle where Joyce and Lambie were kicked out the major parties have agreed not to refer anyone unless it was obvious they lied about their citizenship. Joyce and Lambie were just honest mistakes. Payman left Afghanistan as a child under her mother’s passport as refugees (remember the Taliban). While born in Afghanistan she has never had a Afghan passport. To seek a ticket on the Labor party senate third spot she signed a statutory statement saying she had sought reasonable measures to renounce her Afghanistan citizenship. You personally are within your rights to question that by taking the matter up with the High Court. Good luck.

@patchan1467 What is disgusting? The salary of a senator? That public servants get a travelling allowance? That she had the smarts to buy an investment property?
1
@patchan1467 What an unbelievably naive and childish comment. As if Australia is immune or isolated from global politics and its effects.
1
@patchan1467 Support for a free Palestinian state is not the same as supporting Hamas. She has not offered support for Hamas, you are conflating two separate issues for whatever reason or agenda you have.
1
@patchan1467 Suggesting Hamas and Palestinians are the same is as absurd as suggesting the Liberal party is the same as Australia. Even if every Green voter supported the Greens position on Palestine (statistically impossible) that is about 10% of the country and politically insignificant. It’s like being concerned about One Notion and Pauline Hansen politics if you are a progressive.
1
@patchan1467 I didn’t suggest you were, I only used it as an example of insignificant minority political movements. Also you have cherry picked data in a fallacious claim for overwhelming support for Hamas in Gaza. Political support for Hamas in the West Bank and Gaza has varied greatly and of recent has been as low as 43% in some surveys. Again your generalisations are grossly inaccurate. There is so little support for Hamas here in Australia it is so insignificant as to not be worthy of any concern. Win on the argument, not by silencing the opposition. This is the strength of democracy in Australia.
1
@patchan1467 You claim 80% support for Hamas and then claim Hamas exaggeration, which is it. I agree any surveys during this period are unreliable. I didn’t initially use this data you did, I only used it to disprove the reliability of your data which you now agree is unreliable. So again which is it? I personally don’t believe a word from Hamas, however you seem to think the Israeli military and government is above disinformation. Here is a hint, they are the masters of it.
1
@patchan1467 So which is it? Are surveys unreliable and skewed or accurate? You quoted the data first, I only provided further data that disproved yours. Make your mind up, is survey data accurate or not? You made the claim not me.
1
@patchan1467 I provided no data other than some random results from some surveys taken in Gaza and the West Bank since 0ct 7 last year. You just don’t like conflicting data which is not disinformation.
1
@patchan1467 So live sheep exports $77 million in a sheep and mutton export market of $4 to 5 billion is literally insignificant. Farmers have been given a support package of $107 million and 3 years to find new markets for their products. In actual fact her abstaining provided more opposition than if she had of voted for the bill.
1
@patchan1467 You quoted the data first. If unreliable why did you claim it? All I did was provide unreliable data to disprove your unreliable data.
1
@patchan1467 So why did you cite that 80% of Palestinians support Hamas? Did you just make that figure up?
1
@paulsandford3345 She took all reasonable steps to renounce her Afghanistan birth. She never held an Afghan passport, she travelled on her mother’s passport as a Refugee. Your understanding of the situation is wrong.
1
@Martinoconnor-du6lc Yes. My understanding is she took reasonable steps to renounce her Afghanistan citizenship. As you can understand we are not on the best of terms with Afghanistan at the moment as the Taliban are a bunch of murdering thugs
1
@patchan1467 Nope you are factually wrong and do not understand the specific personal details of this particular case.
1
@patchan1467 This is common public knowledge and is in the public domain.
1
@patchan1467 What an idiotic statement. Hamas are a terrorist organisation, plain and simple you dimwit. I spent my entire life fighting terrorism.
