@polarbear7255 You really need to be more careful with your choice of data. It’s really embarrassing for you when the data you present actually proves that renewables are far outstripping nuclear in providing electricity to the grid.

What science supports nuclear power?

@polarbear7255 If you had even the remotest clue about the context of the discussion you would have realised it is about the politics and economics of nuclear power. Nobody is discussing the science of how nuclear energy produces electricity. I mean what sort of a bubble do you live in? Have you any idea what is happening outside of your bedroom.?

@polarbear7255 Nope, wrong again, I have serious doubts based on the history of nuclear power as to it economic viability in Australia. This view is supported by numerous studies and data. In centralised economies where nuclear power is subsidised by governments (Russia and China) or free markets (France and US) where once again it is subsidised by governments I’m sure nuclear power still makes some sense. Your attempt to strawman my argument by making it about the engineering or technical aspects of nuclear energy is fallacious garbage.

@polarbear7255 Wrong again! and with relative ease your claims are shown to be false. Your claim that Nuclear is used all over the world is a non-sequitur. I didn't claim otherwise so that part of your reply is fallacious nonsense. It can be safe, but that requires significant amounts of safety regulations and a regulatory body (neither of which exist in Australia) Yes it could be effective, so can renewables Yes it is low carbon as are renewables. All the data (LCOE and Gencost studies by CSIRO) shows that nuclear energy has rarely been affordable unless it is subsidised by governments. So if you mean affordable with subsidises then yes I agree with you. You are correct in the average construction time , but you fail to include the time in Australia for the required change in legislation at both federal and state level and then the time required to legislate and then set up a regulatory body. That all takes time and money.

@polarbear7255 Hilarious. You end your reply with a claim I made unsubstantiated claims and you actually began your comment with an unsubstantiated unsupported claim against LCOE. Comically stupid in structure your entire argument is childish in its immaturity and naivety. It is entirely though legislation and safety regulation that nuclear is a relatively safe means to produce electricity. Again, I never suggested it couldn't be safe. I never claimed costs would be excessive, so again, a strawman which just goes to the nonsensical fallacious garbage of a comment you posted.

@polarbear7255 All you do is repeat your claim that LCOE can’t be used, simply because you don’t like the results. LCOE studies do include dispatch reliability as the CSIRO Gencost clearly states. Levelised Cost Of Electricity pretty much sums it up. You offer no data, offer no reference for your claims.
