@michaelclark7447 You do understand the word “country” as used by indigenous people describes the local area not the country as you and I understand it. All a welcome to country is, is a greeting, but sure in your ignorance take offence, turn your back, do I give a rats arse. I will continue to respect someone who offers me a friendly greeting. Why do you find it so offensive to acknowledge prior indigenous occupation?

@Luum81 Some of the early Dutch explorers on the North West coast and Cook describes smoke being used as a form of signal on his trip up the east coast. Apart from that indigenous people have it recorded in their song lines. But I’m sure some dimwit will claim Ernie Dingo created it

@lloydsingline340 The ships diaries of early Dutch explorers in the 17th century. Cook in his diaries records the use of smoke as signalling by indigenous people as he moved up the coast.
