  1. No they weren’t. There was a Time magazine article in the referenced some scientific studies, however this was fully debunked. The consensus amongst scientists for the last 60 years is of a warming atmosphere. All the data proves this conclusively.

  4.  @daved4547  Yeah I meant actual evidence like a reference or citing a source or just really anything. I don’t believe anything, I only observe empirical evidence. It’s called novel testable predictions. “Looking” leads to believing there is a family of fairies living in my garden.

  5.  @Want0nS0up  Yes, absolutely science gets it wrong, nothing is infallible, however some astronomical observations made in the late 19th Century suggested structures on the surface of Mars, however there were sceptical astronomers who doubted this at the time. By 1907 this suggestion had been fully debunked by astronomers. Secondly Al Gore is often misquoted on social media as making this claim about Artic sea ice, but he did say something similar, however he himself misquoted scientific papers. He is a ex journalist/politician. There is no evidence of any published peer reviewed scientific paper that suggested Artic sea ice would be gone by 2008. You yourself may be misquoting a particular model that calculated a future climate with a 10 degree warming for instance. Unfortunately your reply is full of inaccurate and false information, but that's OK as people are fallible and there is no escaping that. Science however is self correcting. I'll accept the science and avoid the personal opinion.

  6. That’s an interesting point. A study a few years ago asked a whole bunch of scientists who support anthropogenic climate change their political leanings and the majority turned out to be conservative voters.

  8. Yes it has. It has been published in “Nature” magazine. What relevance to observable reality now is past history other than evidence of the consequences. The observed phenomenon is happening deal with it.

  12. OMG really that’s your argument water displacement! The vast amount of existing ice is above sea level in Greenland and Antartica. Holy crap read a book. Not only that as the ocean warms it expands. The best thing for you is to delete this post before anyone else reads it and realises how ignorant you are.

  13. so the scientific paper has been peer reviewed and published in the scientific journal “Nature”. My question is by what measure do you feel you are able to dispute their findings. Professor England has a B Sc from Sydney Uni and a PhD from Princeton. He is currently employed by Sydney University at the Climate Change Research Centre. Who pays your salary Carol? Ampol?

  14. Instead of making a comment that makes you look foolish spend 5 minutes and research “Montreal Protocol”. Since significantly reducing CFC in the atmosphere the hole has started to decrease. It will take another 100 years to fully repair, but it is conclusive evidence that humans have effected the climate and evidence that through our behaviour we can repair it

  16. And your evidence for this claim? I cite a Scientific American study, a European Geoscience Union study, and a Science advance study that all agree that the earth is losing approximately 1.2 trillion tons of ice per year and it is increasing.

  17.  @channel1_channel  No argument from me. Since the late 19th century average sea level has risen approximately 22.5cm and is increasing. I can quote numerous scientific studies that attribute this to anthropogenic climate change. This isn't my opinion it is the overwhelming body of evidence.
