Actually the economy of Victoria and NSW bounced back very strong from previous lockdowns and there has been little if any discernible increase in mental health statistics in NSW.

@PabloEskyBruz Why would I make up data that is common public knowledge on a public forum. The data came from the NSW government sites on Treasury and Health, took me all of two minutes to find, if you are incapable of researching the facts that's not my problem that's your limited intellectual capabilities. See I can be condescending as well.

@oldbill3900 Where are you getting your information from? The Betoota Advocate.

@PabloEskyBruz So the GSP 19/20 was 0 so that was the first 6 months of the virus and some bushfire hurt as well, for 20/21 it is looking at coming in at 1.75% so that's the worst of virus last year and the beginning of this year as things picked up and the forecast for 21/22 is 4% growth so no crushing of the economy, but certainly some hurt. NSW mental health stats show no significant increase in the last 18 months there has been a increase in mental health issues but the start of that goes back years.

@oldbill3900 No epidemiologist or medical professional has ever said a vaccine prevents transmission or provides 100% efficacy. The advice about masks I agree was somewhat mixed at the beginning but as we learnt more we discovered they do provide protection, that is how science works. Lockdowns work as they reduce human to human contact It isn't hard to understand, and yeah some politicians are lazy others work really hard.

That is just a completely false statement without a shred of evidence, and implies some sort of wild conspiracy.

@isaacwalker2045 Because when soldiers were allocated to the Covid19 task group they all spent days in training and infection control and then were all issued with sufficient and appropriate PPE. As well with even the remotest contact soldiers were pulled out of duties and isolated in barracks. Those are the facts. The NSW police ran similar protocols. No conspiracy required, just proper training.

@isaacwalker2045 The morbidity fate for Covid19 is approx 10 times that of the flu, however all the data isn't in yet. Yeah I had mate who was diagnosed with Covid19 and was run over by a bus on the way home, Covid killed him dead. As to rest I can't argue with conspiracy theories, but it has not been proven conclusively where or how the virus originated.

@PabloEskyBruz Totally agree housing prices are not the sign of a healthy economy as they increased slightly when we went backwards last year, however they are an indicator, because somebody must be earning the money to afford the loans and pay the high prices, but the GSP only relates to the total of goods and services produced it has nothing to do with the stamp duty and taxes raised which I agree with you the state uses to pay for some serious mismanagement. Basically despite having a go at each other we seem to agree on most things.

@anthonyscott6929 It would if you had replied to the original comment that was totally unsupported by any evidence. I placed no burden of proof on anyone by stating easily accessed common knowledge facts. Do I really need to source a document to tell you the earth isn't flat? Your not going to believe anyway. Others may make stuff up to support an argument. I just tell the truth.

@kevinmcculloch5541 I'm sorry but do you have any understanding of how science works? As we learnt more about the virus various medical institutions adjusted their advice. Initially we weren't sure it was airborne hence at first masks were thought not to be of use, we now know that was wrong so health officials now tell us to wear masks, this is called learning. As well WHO never said it did not come from a lab only that there was no evidence of this and there still is no conclusive evidence it did. Limiting human to human contact clearly slows down the spread of virus, it is merely commonsense. You can argue whether you want to lockdown or not and that is a legitimate point. So how many deaths per day are you happy with?

@anthonyscott6929 Oh come on really, the current economic situation isnt reported ad nauseam in the mainstream media and in even greater detail on line and on social media. Even the average person can read a graph on the ABC news. Once again telling someone to read is not a shifting the burden fallacy as they asked for data. They did not say my statement was false. It may have been a poor way to express my data but that isn't a logical fallacy. You need to go back and read up on your understanding of logical fallacies. As well there was no ad hominem even remotely, nowhere did I suggest anyones comment was of no value because they were an idiot, they may still be an idiot but their comment or reply is always of value. The ad hominem needs to be in relation to the argument. Me just calling you a goose is not an ad hominem, it's not helpful and somewhat childish but that's it. To the point?

@kevinmcculloch5541 Sorry obvious is not one of my strong points, tone deafness is another fault in my character. A thousand apologies!

@anthonyscott6929 Why because I showed you were completely wrong on both counts. When asked to provide data I did in the form of the state governments own budget and health statistics, it may have been in a poorly framed reference but that's it, I did not shift the burden of proof. I was trying to emphasise the common knowledge claim by using the flat earth analogy not distract which even if I was is not close to an ad hominem fallacy. Once again refresh your knowledge of logical fallacies in argumentation.
