@Horsesnameisfriday definitely, the $12 billion in fossil fuels subsidies every year would really show the true cost of using coal, gas, and oil.

Every item in detail is listed on the ABS website.

And the evidence for your claim is?
2
@AussiePatriotsBeProud GDP growth over the last 3 years has been above 3%. You are factually and demonstrably wrong.
2
@AussiePatriotsBeProud GDP growth data is from the ABS. Where are you getting your data from?
2
@AussiePatriotsBeProud Again you are referring to GDP per capita, which is not a recognised measure of an economic recession. So I'm not sure what you are trying to show other than compared to most other countries we are incredibly wealthy
2
@AussiePatriotsBeProud That's fine you can do whatever you want , it's a free country, you are just factually incorrect.

My monthly costs have gone down -30%

@oldbloke204 I have no problem stopping all government subsidies to hospitals, aged care, aged pensions, renewables, education, housing. Why just renewables? Your opinion seems quite partisan to me.
1
@oldbloke204 Nope my first word was “definitely” in response to the initial comment then followed by an one example.
1
@oldbloke204 So you just argued the complete opposite of your first reply to me. So now I’m totally confused, you complain about government subsidies, but then admit we would be a third world country without them. Or is it just up to you personally to decide which subsidies are good and which are bad?
1
@oldbloke204 So we are in complete agreement. One old bloke to another.
1
@AussiePatriotsBeProud No you are wrong. You are talking about GDP per capita which is not how any economist or economic textbook defines a recession. During the previous LNP governments there were also periods of negative GDP per capita growth. Where was your complaining then?
1
@AussiePatriotsBeProud GDP per capita in 2020 was $51792 it currently stands at $64821. What could you possibly be worried about? The fact you are wealthier now than 5 years ago must really hurt your partisan politics.
1
@AussiePatriotsBeProud Sorry I'm confused you accept ABS data on GDP per capita, but refuse to accept GDP growth data. That is just illogical nonsense.
1
@THEFUTUREISNEARLYHERE Happy to be fact checked. What is the data source for the basis of your opinion.
1
@THEFUTUREISNEARLYHERE Inflation at 2.1% is nowhere near record rates. Historically since 1950 our Inflation rate has averaged out at 4.85% so you are just factually incorrect.
1
@THEFUTUREISNEARLYHERE Again happy to be fact-checked, just provide the source of your data.
1
The ABS is by legislation independent from government either Liberal or Labor. What evidence do you have this data is corrupt?
1
@katb945 Your comment shows a lack of understanding of the data. Inflation has fallen, nobody is claiming costs are going negative. A falling Inflation rate merely indicates price increases have slowed to a level that economists agree is sustainable.

What is your evidence for your claim?
