Potentially you could then get someone with much less than 30% of the vote elected. Preference voting means you may not get your first choice but your second choice may get up with 51%

@fronttowardenemy9994 The Rudd/Gillard government spent $100 billion over 5 years on stimulus spending and successfully avoided a recession that the rest of the OCED suffered due to the GFC.The Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison governments never got close to a balanced or surplus budget in 9 years and Morrison spent something like $400 billion in one year on stimulus alone and we still had a recession in the second half of 2020. It’s bit rich to lecture Labor on fiscal responsibility.

To be fair all sides of government since 2007 have contributed to the current total national debt which is actually $965 billion not $2 trillion. The debt is perfectly manageable according to most economists.
