Comments by "" (@pwillis1589) on "Afghanistan withdrawal a ‘black mark’ on Biden administration" video.
The Trump administration signed the withdrawal agreement with the Taliban. That is just a fact. Trump then reduced the troop levels in Afghanistan down to less than 6000 by January of 2021 again just fact. All the Biden administration did was follow through with Trumps plan. Just the facts.

@pseudohippie55 You raise some important issues. No I agree Biden shouldn’t left Afghanistan. I my opinion NATO and all the other allies should still be there in force and for the next 20 years if necessary. However as it was both Trump and Biden’s stated policy to leave what are you complaining about. Secondly you appear to have little or no knowledge of military tactics. Trump had already withdrawn troop levels down to the bare minimum to be able to just defend Bagram airbase. There were insufficient troops to secure Kabul airport as well. The US plan was always if required to support Kabul airport with the A rapid reaction force from the 82 airborne and a US MAF, which is exactly what happened. US intelligence obviously didn’t think the Afghan military would fall apart so quickly. Your last point is ridiculous. Are you really going to impeach presidents for the accidental death of civilians in war. That would create a long list. Just a ludicrous suggestion.

@kabc vacuous nonsense from someone who posts on a semi public platform and thinks their opinion (without fact) should not be criticised. I was not critical of you personally only your comment.

@pseudohippie55 Your argument only makes sense if the intelligence indicated they were making milk. I grant you it was an intelligence failure, but that’s it. It was a dreadful mistake but not an intentional act to kill civilians.

@kabc Happy for criticism of my comment or argument that’s how we learn, except in your case apparently not.

@pseudohippie55 Yes I can totally agree with this last comment. US foreign policy is littered with intelligence failures, remember Iraq and weapons of mass destruction. Gathering intelligence and making decisions on its content just isn’t a science like math, it is something far more complicated. But yes people should be held accountable, but you should also allow people to learn from their mistakes.
