  2.  @davidrhodes7655  Fair enough it’s just that I can quote 2 LCOE studies (LAZARDs and CSIRO) that clearly demonstrate both new solar and wind are considerably cheaper than existing coal.

  3.  @davidrhodes7655  while I appreciate this has been reported in the MSM I have found no authoritative evidence that the CSIRO Gencost report was wildly inaccurate. It published its results and I have not seen any published results that contradict the CSIROs estimates of both SMR and large scale reactor costings. Happy for you to guide me to such data. Just some advocate of nuclear energy claiming the report is inaccurate is not evidence.

  4. @ThatGuy-ze5kk  Even assuming your criticisms are correct SMR (which are not commercially available and won't be for many years) cost 4 times more than renewables which still means renewables still come in cheaper over a 120 year time frame. Large scale nuclear is more than twice as expensive than renewables so may work out economically over a 60 year period would require massive legislative change at federal and state level. Considering the last time a federal government had control of the Senate was 15 years ago, any thought of nuclear power in Australia is fanciful.

  5. @rods6405  Write a scientific paper with your opinions submit it for peer review and have it published. The notion that the CO2 released into the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels is good is contradicted by almost the entire scientific community. The rest of your reply was nonsensical garbage.
