Yes sure did. Section 127 of our original constitution made native aboriginals non citizens. It effectively denied them voting rights in some states. We had other racist sections particularly section 25. This section was so racist we had to introduce legislation in the 70s to nullify it. In 1901 using the specific racist elements the government introduced the Immigration restriction act. It was called the White Australia policy which was explicitly racist. All sides of politics were complicit in this abomination.
