@polarbear7255 That's your argument. They are wrong. You cite no data no alternative source of information, nothing. Do you know how stupid that sounds. It is the argument of a 7 year old and I'll leave it at that.

@polarbear7255 Both the IEA and the world Nuclear association LCOE studies also concluded that wind and solar are cheaper. You offer no alternative reference just a pathetic “look further” again the argument of a child or a religious fundamentalist. I never suggested nuclear energy not be a source of energy production only that it won’t be cheap. And the troll thing, once again used by someone who literally has no argument, and again I’ll leave it at that.

So LCOE studies by the IEA, the US Energy Agency, the CSIRO, the World Nuclear association, LAZARDs, and IRENA all concluded wind Hydro, and solar are significantly cheaper than nuclear. The World nuclear association argues that capacity is more important than cost, and this is a legitimate argument. IRENA argues the capacity issue with renewables can be meet by a range of measures, which is also a legitimate argument. What is not a legitimate argument and is quite juvenile is unsubstantiated claims of nuclear being cheap. Not a single piece of evidence has been presented to show this to be the case. Just childish slurs of "troll" because you don't like the evidence presented to you. In the US, France, and Sth Korea the nuclear power plants are all heavily subsidised with government money to make the electricity affordable. In France the nuclear industry is in hock to the tune of 40 billion Euros and in Korea the state owned nuclear power plants regularly run at a financial loss.

@polarbear7255 Feigning intellectual superiority is not an argument. All I asked from the original commentator was some evidence of his claim. You then chimed in with a vacuous comment, and then continued with further unsubstantiated claims of nuclear energy being cheap and then you have the chutzpah to call me a “troll”.

@polarbear7255 I can’t be offended, this is YouTube comments, and I never implied or suggested that nuclear not be part of our energy mix, it most certainly could be. It won’t be cheap though for which I provided evidence for and then further evidence in the form of multiple studies. You claim LCOE is not the be all end all and neither did I, but you provide no alternative. I most certainly agree with you any form of infrastructure can go wrong. Some nuc plants have taken almost 40 years to build and yes tunneling machine for the Snowy 2.0 has hit some major hurdles. The Korean electricity industry in the last quarter had a 1trillion Won loss whatever that is in Aussie dollars.
