RealClear polling actually includes the Rasmussen poll in its data which as you correctly point out has Trump 4 points ahead, however other polls have Trump 4 points behind and the average of polls with Harris 1.5 points ahead. Thanks for giving me the opportunity for this fact-check.

  10. @Diponty  So RealClear polling which is one of the polls I quoted includes the Rasmussen poll in its data. Yes you are correct Trump is 4 points up in that poll, however Harris is 4 points up in the Morning Consult poll and nationally on average 1.5 points ahead of Trump. Just the facts.

If you did, you would have known the first poll I cite actually includes Rasmussen which is a right wing poll and has Trump 5 points ahead. So all you have revealed is your ignorance of polling data. Some of the polls I referenced are actually average polls of several polls. In short, your reply is without substance and basically meaningless. Actually do yourself a favour and actually research the polling data correctly, you might not remain so blissfully ignorant.

  13.  @HomeByTheSeas  Polling companies sell their polling data. To sell their data it is pointless unless it has value. To be valuable it must have some level of accuracy and consistency. All you have done is generalise. Indicate explicitly one poll and its political leanings.

  17.  @HomeByTheSeas  Well I was of the opinion that I posted a fact checked list of polling data that accurately reflects reality. It was numerous other people that argued my post was inaccurate. So in my butthurt conniptions I defended my initial post of a list of independent polls. If I claim polls are independent and someone declares they aren’t, I can at least attempt to show they are wrong.

  18.  @HomeByTheSeas  Absolutely and as you rightly stated polls have been wrong and there is still plenty of time and opportunity for Trump to reverse the current trend. The polls are still very close and whatever the result in November it is still going to be very close. I predict Trump with a very narrow electoral College win perhaps only by 30. He will have a torrid time because he won’t have the support of congress, but that is just opinion of course. The original comment that I reacted to was clearly just factually wrong.

  33. @Diponty  Yes, I totally agree, and as I have pointed out numerous other polls have Harris ahead. Many of these polls also have Harris ahead in 4 out of the 6 battleground states. I'm not dareing to suggest Harris will win or that Trump will win, only that it is much closer now that Trump is up against Harris. Trump was ahead in all the polls when he was up against Biden. This election will be very close as were the last two.

All polls are biased and by averaging out numerous polls over a period of time trends emerge. Currently that shows Harris ahead nationally and in some of the battleground states. These exact same polls had Trump well ahead of Biden 4 weeks ago. So were they biased when the poll had Trump ahead or only biased when they have Harris ahead. Sorry your argument is illogical nonsense.

It uses a stratified sampling process and multiple nationally recognized vendors to gain access to tens of millions of Americans. After fielding, Morning Consult applies weights based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region (determined by 2016 Current Population Survey)
