@alsmith9853 Can you please cite for me one legal case where a finding of corruption was found against ATSIC. Just cite the reference ie Commonwealth v whoever or Queensland v whoever or whatever. I can then research the actual case on the website of whichever court you direct me to. Thanks.

@alsmith9853 Simple mistake. Thanks for pointing it out. I obviously meant ATSIC.

No investigation or reports found any fraud at ASTIC ever. I have no idea what has tainted your memory. Racism perhaps, ignorance maybe, dementia possibly.

So just some facts here for the numpties who clearly have no clue. No findings of fraud or misuse of public funds were ever found against ASTIC. Geoff Clake was never convicted of any sexual assaults in a criminal court. He did however have to pay money in a civil court case, and he is currently standing trial for misappropriation of funds, but not related to ASTIC. He was found guilty of a charge relating to a pub brawl. So Geoff Clark probably isn't the nicest bloke, however it is idiotic and stupidity of the highest order to then taint ASTIC with the same brush, it is effect straight out racist.
1
@alsmith9853 So you have nothing. Thankyou for your honesty. Geoff Clark was never charged with any offence relating to his time with ASTIC and certainly nothing relating to embezzlement of monies or fraud. He was convicted of an obstruction charge during a pub brawl. That’s it. Your claims about ASTIC and corruption are completely baseless and as I have shown lack any evidence whatsoever. Thankyou.

@alsmith9853 Geoff Clark is in my opinion not a very nice person. However his personal failings were not a reflection of the effectiveness/non effectiveness of ASTIC. Once again there is literally no evidence whatsoever of ASTIC ever being corrupt. The Howard government simply didn't like it. It had a inquiry into its functionality that recommended some internal structural reforms. Howard didn't like that report either so he dissolved it with legislation through the parliament. Why do you insist of believing something that is obviously not true?
1
@three.one_four What problems does Geoff Clark have with Wikipedia?
1
@three.one_four You made the claim.
1
@three.one_four You directed at me "So his Wikipedia problems are untrue? Again I ask what problems does he have with Wikipedia? That is the claim you made.
1
@three.one_four So we finally got to the essence of all your comments. Nonsensical gibberish.

@saltyaussie7702 Absolutely none of that relates to anything whatsoever with ASTIC. I make no defence of Geoff Clark as previously commented in this discussion thread. Provide the evidence of corruption at ASTIC (hint a newspaper article isn’t evidence) ASTIC was dissolved at the whim of the PM after an inquiry found no corruption but did suggest restructuring. Howard didn’t like that advice. To be fair the Labor opposition didn’t oppose it, so the legislation easily passed through the parliament. It is as if you have literally no idea of fairly recent current affairs or you are attempting to be mischievously dishonest. I can’t really tell.
1
@saltyaussie7702 The fraud charges relate to an Aboriginal trust fund. Nothing to do with ATSIC. Get your facts straight.
1
@robynhegwein1 I not sure what your point is? Both your points are factually correct so what? The earth is a globe, the sky is blue 2+2=4. So what?
1
Wasn’t convicted of anything so there you go. So just a couple of racists having a chat together so there you go.

@ericrochester8835 How is an individuals history got anything to do with any possible constitutional amendment or why it has anything to do with a yes or no vote. All this article was about is an attempt to slander an individual to cast doubt on all indigenous leaders. It was obviously racist in content and intent.
1
So a Howard government investigation, an investigation by the NT CSIC and a police investigation all found there was no evidence of any wrong doing by Yunupinu or the running of the mining royalties fund. Once again Bolt and Windshuttle are guilty of a racist attempt to slander an Australian of the Year for no other reason perhaps than they think they are superior or envious it is hard to determine which.

@asnail6550 Cite the data source that confirms he owned 4 homes. He did have access to a helicopter that he used to commute. Provide the documentation that shows he owned it. Perhaps it was just hired on a ad hoc basis.

@planesounds Nonsensical unsubstantiated claims of nothingness, backed up by a good dose of bigotry. Have you actually got a single factually verified piece of evidence? No I didn't think so. Just mindless rumour as I thought.
1
@planesounds Just more of the same airy fairy stories of nothingness without referencing a single factual document. All human societies at some stage behaved in the manner you describe. So what? Kusimba, Sibel (2003). African Foragers: Environment, Technology, Interactions. Rowman Altamira. p. 285. ISBN 978-0-7591-0154-8. Whatever point you are trying to make is nonsensical gibberish.
