@Luum81 Religious organisations get massive tax concessions. That is explicitly taxpayer funding.

@area51isreal71 And again what is wrong with any organisation expressing an opinion and or expressing support for any issue. What is the problem you have with free speech in a liberal democracy?
2
@area51isreal71 So free speech but only on your terms and only when you decide who has the suitable knowledge. That’s North Korea not Australia, but thanks for your honesty.

So the Catholic Church which has offered unqualified support for the voice and called for a “yes” vote, what do we do with their tax payer concessions?

Why is expressing an opinion in a liberal democracy acting like a political party, or is it you just don’t like the opinion and merely what only your opinion heard.

@dfor50 what moral issue has a church ever involved itself in?
1
@Luum81 Nope you are using a technicality on words and practice is to deny the obvious. A tax concession on capital gains when selling property is the direct use of tax payers money. Not paying tax on income is direct tax payer subsidies.

@Luum81 Yes get rid of them all. Public organisations do all those activities and with better accountability. A tax concession is a taxpayer funded subsidy. No religious organisation should have tax exemptions under any circumstances.

@Luum81 OZ harvest and Foodbank are two non religious Food hamper charities. State governments provide vouchers for multiple activities both schools and sporting. Federal governments provide extensive social welfare programs and funding. Lifeline is a free service as are numerous other online non religious counselling and support services. Public hospitals provide free health care, as do GPs using Medicare. It is factually incorrect to suggest governments don't and can't do it cheaper and more effectively.
