And your evidence for this claim is?
2
Significantly less than burning coal.

@WeveGotBush Well I can reference scientific studies that prove my opinion, what have you got?
1
@WeveGotBush Again, what have you got? Your gut feeling? Science is a process of observation, explanation, experimentation, and repeating this over and over until the gaining of knowledge. It is not perfect nor has it ever professed to be. Again what have you got? Thoughts from your upper colon?

@jule3480 And my original point stands. I certainly didn't claim or suggest that renewables don't have an effect on the environment so your reply is a strawman fallacy. I claimed renewables kill significantly less wildlife than burning coal.

@jule3480 Almost 100% of a wind turbine and a PV panel are recyclable. Currently, there is a company that turns used wind blades into cement for the construction industry. Every LCOE study I have read indicates wind power is significantly cheaper than fossil fuel power or nuclear.

Lets dispel the myth about solar: the sun shines every day. Every single day. There is nothing intermittent about it. And solar cells do work on cloudy days. They are less efficient, so you need more, but they are 1000 times more efficient than an old broken down coal station. People dont talk about how intermittent and how much maintenance coal and gas power plants actually need. They go off line all the time. But look how much desert we have! Blistering sun, almost all most days. Not intermittent. And if you live on the coast, you know the wind blows every single day too. It is the temperature difference between land and sea that causes it. It is how the Earth works. Of course we need reservoirs of energy to time shift the energy. So luckily we have lots of sand, for the sand batteries we can use. None of this is beyond our engineering capabilities. It is all proven and easy. A silent wind farm 20 kilometres out to sea, is no worse visually than coal and LNG tankers ships plying their trade along the coast.

Fantastic. Environmental concerns addressed, 2.9 gigawatts of electricity powering 1.8 million homes. Great result.

@TPTRUMP Thankyou for your kind words.

@Diponty who’s Al?

@muzzleflash1 A 2012 study showed that fossil fuel plants kill 35 X more bird life than wind turbines.
1
@muzzleflash1 Studies show the burning of fossil fuels kill 35 times more fauna than wind turbines.
1
No evidence whatsoever of damage to whales.

@Tallus-on9xx Nothing has been approved, all that has been done is a location has been set aside for a possible development. Any potential construction still has to go through all the environmental legislation and procedures.

And the evidence of your calculations is?
