@jamesprice4074 it's a simple question that even a bot could answer.

By what measure?

By what measure?

@tomjones5338 9 years of LNP government and there was no attempt to reach 3.5% of GDP on defence. None whatsoever.

@aussienscale No, I'm suggesting that's its easy to call for a massive increase in defence spending when you didn't do it in government and then wait till you are in opposition. It's called hypocrisy. How do you expect to pay for such a massive increase in defence spending?
1
@aussienscale No, factually incorrect. Labor governments have increased defence budgets, but have been financially responsible in doing so. Decisions on new warships, missiles for the airforce and rocket Artillery for the Army have been made under Labor governments. Your claims are just hyperbole.
1
@aussienscale You are lacking facts. The annual average spending on Defence between the Howard government and the Rudd/Gillard government is only .05% of GDP. The Rudd government ordered the F35s for the RAAF. Not a single word of your comments bares any resemblance to the truth.
1
@aussienscale The F35 was ordered during the Rudd/Gillard government. You are factually incorrect.

@jamesprice4074 The Italians don’t.

@binks7988 Was it going downhill under the Morrison LNP government when it too had a per capita recession?
1
@binks7988 So the fact GDP is increasing, wages are increasing, inflation is down and back in the RBA desired range, unemployment is low, job growth is strong are economic indicators that suggest your claim is incorrect. So did you mean other factors that are not economic?
