  3. I’m not defending terrorists but isn’t freedom of speech derived through English common law one of the cornerstones of our democracy. In which case what possible issue could you have with an individuals right to express their opinion?

  4.  @PonchoPoncho556  So in Australia nobody has the right to citizenship. Immigrants have to pass a test and residency qualifications. Even a person born in Australia needs to pass certain checks to get a passport. WTF are you talking about?

  6.  @jimgardiner6056  Absolute garbage. NewZealanders are regularly deported from Australia for committing crimes. Australia has also cancelled the citizenship of numerous people convicted of terrorism. If you like I can give you specific examples.

  7.  @jimgardiner6056  Khaled Sharrouf in 2016 and Shane Martin in 2016. Martin was the father of a Brownlow medal winner and not even that could save him from deportation.

  8.  @dfor50  There are already numerous ways you can lose your citizenship, as well the Minister can revoke anyone’s citizenship for any serious offence.

  9.  @dfor50  And that’s means any Australian born here or not. You may not be able to be deported if you were born here but you can be denied a passport and hence your ability to travel overseas. This is regularly done in criminal matters.

  10.  @rogergibbs2937  There is a article in the law that describes it. I can’t remember the reference. I’m happy to go with that definition and anyone who breaches it should face the full force of our justice system.

  11.  @rogergibbs2937  I’m not sure to what you are referring. Hopefully the NSW police will be able to identify and arrest anyone suspected of hate speech and once convicted in a court, have the fullest punishment dealt out.

  13.  @rogergibbs2937  18c of the Racial discrimination Act 1975. Andrew Bolt was convicted of racism under it, and it can be used against anyone caught saying those disgusting things about Jewish people. I won’t repeat the actual phrase as it is too disgusting.
