@oldnutta7611 Lots of cultures and societies didn’t develop a wheel as there was no requirement. The British who settled here certainly didn’t.

@oldnutta7611 Nope, only that the British didn't invent the wheel either so your point meaningless.

@daniellebcooper7160 I have reservations about the use of nation as well, as even western civilisation really didn't have an idea about nationhood until the enlightenment. However that doesn't detract in any way thier legitimate claims to ownership of their land.

@daniellebcooper7160 I totally agree with you and there was a certain inevitability about it as western military technology was far superior. Land rights have been dealt with. Mabo and Wik have seen to that. The Uluṟu statement from the heart as I understand it would complete reconciliation.

@daniellebcooper7160 Interesting I lived for 9 years in Darwin, but I make no judgements or comments about indigenous communities as domestic violence is as rampant in Woolhara, as it is in Tennant Creek. The wedge you talk of has been created by indigenous disadvantage, why would you be opposed to an remedy to that? The Uluru Statement was cosigned after a exhaustive consultation from the entire indigenous community. Social welfare to indigenous people is delivered with far stricter conditions than for the rest of Australians the racial discrimination act was even suspended to allow this to happen. Your assessment of social programs for indigenous people is therefore flawed. You claim of one system for all would be great if it was the case. Cite just one piece of evidence where Aboriginal people have an advantage in Australia.

@jackturpin7828 DNA evidence proves it decisively.

@mickden3155 And can you provide some evidence or data of which particular gravy train you seem to think indigenous people are on.
1
@mickden3155 would that be the one where indigenous people die on average just over ten years younger than the National life expectancy. Yeah I want to jump on that train, not.
1
@mickden3155 That was a barely intelligible response and so I'm assuming you have spent a little to long outside today. I am to understand your evidence is the government gravy train, really that's your reply to a simple request for actual data or evidence.
