Please please please, the best thing the LNP could do is run on an energy policy of nuclear power.

@AximandTheCursed While accepting that the RET does provide tradable certificates for electricity providers to invest in renewable systems, the fossil fuel industry also is subsidised. A recent IMF report had direct federal government subsidies to fossil fuels of $9.7billion annually. So both sides of the story need to be told in the interests of fairness.

@AximandTheCursed No need to try again. Just in NSW alone direct subsidies to the Coal innovation fund totalled $45 million. I can't help wilful ignorance though. In Western Australia the Collie and Muja power stations received $21 million in subsidies for maintenance and another $250 for capital spending. Explain to me why a RET subsidy to a wind turbine producing electricity is different to a state government handout to a coal power station?

@AximandTheCursed There are several source documents that detail federal and state government subsidies to fossil fuels, but first you would need to provide evidence of your claim IMF is a tarnished institution.

@FranksHairSalon let alone the voters in every electorate the LNP identifies as having a nuc plant built. Then when they can’t find a single investor and go into the power business themselves it will be hilarious. The best thing the LNP could possibly do for the country is run on a nuclear power platform. Albo is literally salivating at the prospect.

@AximandTheCursed Yeah that’s a nice general statement that proves or shows nothing, nor does it discredit a report about fuel subsidies that is supported by an Australian Institute study on the same topic. I will however accept your silence of explaining why two subsidies why one isn’t and one is a subsidy as acceptance that your initial comment was factually incorrect.

@AximandTheCursed Any failures in my life are not reflected in factually incorrect comments on youtube and if I was shown to be incorrect I would happily make a retraction and have done so. Fossil fuels receive direct government subsidies, not just tax offsets as you implied. You were just factually wrong.

@AximandTheCursed Your language is certainly interesting in that you appear to have no interest in the truth, but simply wanting to win or thinking you can win in a discussion. As explained in an earlier comment a straight out $250 million grant to a coal fired power station for capital spending is not a tax offset or a rebate it is a straight out subsidy. This is common in all the states not just WA. Wind turbine farms also generate revenue. Your argument is illogical nonsense.

You seem to take being shown to be factually wrong very personal. If you comment on YouTube you must be prepared for logical criticism. Don't take it so personally.
