There was not a single accurate statement by any of the four panelists in this video. Some of the comments were just straight out falsehoods. Complete rubbish all of it.

@peterjones4180 The comment from the bloke on the left that we are in a war now with cyber attacks and Dutton is nailing it. Defence has had a specialist cyber warfare unit for some years and Minister Dutton had nothing to do with. It looks like Peter Dutton will be a good Defence minister but the idea that in two weeks Defence is on the right track, defence policy was already basically on track and nothing has changed other than some operational issues. He can whip up a White paper and if that is significantly different from his governments last one then I'm on board, but let's see some runs on the scoreboard before we start covering the Minister in praise. This mob just sounded like Dutton sycophants. The Bushmaster did under go some change in design specifications in late 97 and I will take the woman on the rights word that as the minister at the time she had some input into those but to suggest that as a new minister with zero knowledge of armoured vehicle design or engineering that her contribution significantly changed the capability of the bushmaster had me laughing. It was designed as a armoured truck and still is an armoured truck with no offensive capability, granted it is and excellent armoured truck. PMV technically. The woman on the left made some nonsensical comment about transgender toilets in defence. Every shit I took in the bush was a transgender toilet, and lastly the clown on the right that all our ports and farms are owned by the Chinese well that was just the topper, surely you would have to see that is just an absurd statement that all the others clowns on the panel just nodded in agreement, I can only assume that's what the think. I could go on but this is a good start.

@peterjones4180 No more waries, back to the point. Bishop implied that with her imput the capability of the bushmaster was significantly increased and that is just wrong. It was designed as a IMV and ended up as an PMV with nothing more than a minor increase in armour.

@peterjones4180 We bought 2.5 billion dollars worth of tanks the other day. Fact check me on the numbers but it was something like 80 MBTs 30 breaching tanks, and 20 recovery tanks plus 100 spare engines.

@peterjones4180 OK so you are being generous to the substance of her comment and I am being somewhat sceptical. That doesn't change the overall comical nature of the entire content of the video clip.

@peterjones4180 Rudd/Gillard governments. NBN, NDIS, Gonski education funding reform, Child sex abuse Royal Commission, average annual GDP increase through GFC of 2.5 % (the rest of the OCED went backwards) total reduction in CO2 emissions by 10% over the Gillard years. I could go on, but that period saw more productive ledgislation passed than the previous or subsequent governments. It got a lot wrong particularly with Defence, but if you consider keeping the economy growing and maintaining the jobs of half a million Australians buggering it up then fair enough.
