Exactly ours is mostly pasture feed, US beef is almost exclusively feedlot.

@buildmotosykletist1987 The American Waygu Association website actually has pictures of its cattle in feed lots under a shed. That's not pasture feed.

@ By what standard? The US is unable to match Australian standards in food chain and supply certification. The US can’t even guarantee if a box of beef turns up here in Australia all the beef in the box is from the US. It can have Central American of South American mixed in. This is why they are unable to pass our bio security rules. Australian beef is by far the very best in the world and starting to beat Japanese Wagyu producers in competitions.

You of obviously never eaten Madura station wagyu at some of the better restaurants in Sydney. Go Rockpool bar and grill and have a waygu steak.

@CC-uq4hu just did a bit of research Brazil is actually the biggest exporter of beef in the world, twice as much as anyone else. India is second. Japan doesn't even make it onto the list of data I read.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Fair cop, but i was referring to total beef production, not Wagyu. In Australia, it probably varies, but i think alot of our wagyu is grain fed.

@ No you are misinformed. The US produces the most beef in the world. Brazil exports the most. Simple mistake by yourself, much like the spelling of Wagyu.

@buildmotosykletist1987 No, I didn't. You rightly pointed out in one of my comments i hadn't put the W in wagyu, replied at the time good point. I don't remember you misspelling Wagyu at all. Now as I pointed out in regards to US produced Waygu, the US Waygu National association on its own website has its cattle under cover in a shed being fed. That is not pasture fed. I'm not suggesting our Wagyu is significantly different, but our Wagyu wander in paddocks and are then finished off on grain (at Mayura station the cattle are also finished on rejected chocolate biscuits from a nearby factory) Mayura Station Waygu is as good if not better than the Japanese and significantly better than any US product. I'm sure you produce a of things but claiming you are a Wagyu farmer is fallacious nonsense. Name the property, and provide the certification your claim is true.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Ah that's where you went wrong. When I pointed out you had mistaken total production for export quantity i also added misspelling Waygu. I meant i had misspelt Wagyu. Bit of confusion there, but cleared up. It really isn't necessary to immediately go the misdirection route. We aren't all conspiracy theorists.

@ Yes I can’t comment on that. I certainly believe you. I have only tasted one piece of Kobe and Aussie Waygu from numerous producers, particularly Mayura station which was something extraordinary special. Your comment has opened up a larger discussion on beef and exports/imports. US beef is clearly of inferior quality because they are unable to certify its origin or the security of their supply chain. That’s why they are unable to pass our bio security rules.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Totally, I misspelt Waygu by using a lower case "w" no doubt about it. Every other claim you raised from the quality of US beef to the largest exporters of beef I comprehensively proved your claims to simply be untrue.

@buildmotosykletist1987 In regards to the tasting of Waygu what you stated is the accepted standard. There's nothing new there. Pasture fed certainly has a different look to grain fed and it does taste different as it does with other breeds of cattle, and as I previously wrote I have had Waygu that was also finished on chocolate biscuits. If you really are a Wagyu farmer in Australia, i applaud you (I doubt you are) but if you are, you produce the best beef in the world. Good on you.

@buildmotosykletist1987 As I have commented several times now, that was a misunderstanding. I spelt it incorrectly and in admitting that somehow you thought i claimed you misspelt it. You didn't. I did. Now, get over the fixation on a minor spelling error. I made no claim about being a Wagyu farmer, you made the claim without any evidence or certification, so it is ignored as anecdotal and fallacious nonsense. You made false claims about US beef quality and export data, neither of which you have acknowledged as being incorrect.

Australian beef is of a superior quality to US beef it’s leaner, cleaner, and better certified and that’s why they import so much into the US.They make their burgers out of it. You provided literally no evidence whatsoever of being anything, no certification, no reference, nothing, zip, zero. I’m sorry you are so offended by education, how dare I read and learn, but I understand why you find that so offensive.

Any claim I make is not unsubstantiated anecdotal nonsense.I will provide an independent source, as I did when I referenced the American Waygu Associations own website where they clearly show the Cattle in a shed being feed. They were clearly not in a pasture. I have made no claims I cannot support. A Quick Look at National Beef Wire website easily confirms my claim of Brazil being the largest exporter of beef in the world. You claimed it was the US is laughably inaccurate. Now seat down grab a cuppa and go back and find your comment “Rubbish, US exports more than Brazil. Now you are just making things up as usual” there you feeling better. It was the 8th comment from the top.

You just read into what you wanted to. I said nothing about Wagyu production, which varies greatly from normal cattle production. Your entire thread of discussion is just riddled with errors. Again, if you really are a Waygu farmer (which i doubt), i applaud you, but stick to growing cattle your logic and discussion skills are very poor.

I admitted to this long ago in at least two comments. Your spelling is very good. How is that cuppa going? Now that we have established the superiority of you spelling skills, shall we revisit your discussion skills. Are you capable of referencing or providing some certification for your claim the US produces quit a lot of "Grass fed Wagyu". Simple statistical fact. Oops "quit" surely you meant "quite". @CC-uq4hu That’s because it was feedlot from birth to death and pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. Aussie beef is pasture feed and then some of it is feedlot just before death.
