  1.  @Didigetitwrong  No that is factually incorrect. Federal immigration law, specifically the 1901 immigration act explicitly prevented Chinese from migration. It was called the white Australia policy and was in effect right up until the late 60s.

  2. There was in influx of Chinese around the gold rush however by federation many had returned to China.

  3.  @Didigetitwrong  Yes your data about Chinese heritage at 5% is reasonably accurate, the ABS has it at 5.5%. I have no issue with that, but at a total population of Chinese born and those with Chinese heritage at 550000 as per the 2016 census I personally don’t see a problem.

  6. That’s makes no sense. The Rudd government initiated a Defence White paper that specifically mentioned China as a threat and recommended increasing our submarine fleet from 6 to 12.

  7. As well the current government initiated a Strategic Defence Review and a National Defence Strategy paper that both specifically mentioned China as a threat, so again I’m not sure what you are on about
