The simple stats are and it varies a bit from country to country but around 5% of reported sexual assaults are proven to be false. So you do the math and decide if you would be happy with your daughter in his presence.

@wonniewarrior Are you seriously suggesting that all allegations of sexual assault are false? We have a criminal and judicial system that generally goals persons convicted beyond reasonable doubt. Porter will never face that system and neither should he, however once again do the math and decide if you would invite him into your home with your wife and daughters while you go to work. Join the real world.

@huko4266 And your point is? My point is in the overwhelming majority of instances of sexual assault an allegation is not false. It doesn't mean the perpetrator always faces the criminal justice system or spends time in goal in fact the opposite is the case sexual assault is rarely punished by the criminal justice system for a variety of reasons, but one of them is that it did not happen.

@wonniewarrior On a secondary note yep when it comes to protecting my wife, daughter, and granddaughters from rapists I will generalise every time.

@huko4266 Apart from the woman who is now dead, nobody has alleged anything other than there was an allegation of sexual assault. It was clearly in the public interest that fact be known, he was the Federal Attorney General and potentially a rapist, surely this obviously a concern. It doesn't mean he is, but there is a chance. You only have to read the reports on the statistics of sexual assault in this country.

@xDosReis Either way there is no way I'm letting him anywhere near my wife, daughter, or granddaughters. That's the reality. How often do you allow a potential rapist near any any of your loved ones?

@xDosReis And a potential rapist remains at the highest levels of government. You might be happy with that, I'm not, and that's the difference. If your happy with potential rapists running the country good luck with that.

@david-dj8or I have read several studies and crime stats across numerous countries and is a approximation. Sexual assault statistics are very problematic as they are for the most part under reported. Also due to the complex nature of sexual assault crimes, proving them in court and getting convictions is very difficult. In summary do I think CP should or would ever face criminal liability? no. Is there a public interest in knowledge of an allegation? yes. Would I ever let him anywhere near a person I cared about? Not a freakin chance. Three completely seperate circumstances, Justice, truth, and reality.
