@GrooberNedJardine One long nonsensical uninformed rant that didn’t answer my question. How in gods name does inflation and a secure Mexican border prevent Russia invading Ukraine. Answer my question. What would have Trump done to stop Russia invading Ukraine. Trump had 4 years to withdraw NATO troops from the Baltic states and did nothing.

If you mean not expand well Trump did the opposite he encouraged NATO to all increase their military budgets. A mutual respect!!!! that’s your analysis that would have stopped Putin invading Ukraine. Ad hominem and Appeal to ignorance leap out, but you also managed to fit in a false dilemma fallacy and circular argument as well. Your entire argument is nonsense and illogical. Because the invasion didn’t happen when Trump was there therefore Biden is to blame is illogical for all those preceding fallacies. Russian troops and separatists continued gain territory right through the Trump administration. All Trump did was at various stages trash NATO or praise it. After the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations were all consistent in fostering Ukraine as a stable independent democracy. The Trump administration initially followed this trend too until Giuliani decided to use it as a tool to get Trump re-elected. I could just as well argue WWII happened because I wasn’t there to stop it. Just complete nonsense.

@jakey3004 Well I like to think Jack of all trades, I read widely and don't limit myself to one side of the news/information. I am no particular fan of the Biden administrations foreign policy, and he shouldn't have followed Trumps plan to surrender to the Taliban. I see absolutely no merit in an argument that if Trump was still in office Russia would not have invaded Ukraine. The West generally has been weak in response to Chinese and Russian expansion. Time to step up.

@jakey3004 Jeez that's a hard question, I reckon there were elements of Trumps character he certainly respected. Any numnuts should respect the President of the USA. I think it is a dangerous practice to base these geopolitical plays on individual personalities. If Trump was it the seat now who knows, he may have threatened or actually committed US military forces, and as I see it that's the only thing that would have prevented Russian incursion.

@roberthorvath3665 Yes, it’s slightly disturbing. I accept the situation may have been different if Trump had been the president, but nobody here so far has provided a shred of evidence or some logical analysis as to why or how. I can assert if my 10 year old granddaughter was president she could have stopped Putin with as much confidence and evidence as the people commenting here.

@bidensenile4196 I have explained this illogical argument numerous times. Stating something didn’t happen without any evidence other than it didn’t happen previously is just fallacious nonsense. The reason Putin didn’t act sooner was a whole series of geopolitical occurrences. The statement Biden is a softie and presumably Trump is hard is childlike geopolitical analysis. Provide some actual evidence.

If you even had taken the smallest amount of time to read the thread of that exchange you would have realised I didn’t call President Trump a fool, I was using it as an example why calling someone an idiot without at least some evidence was fallacious. @TeliosTommy I made no claims about the BIden administration, however your comment is full of fallacious statements. 1. Fuel prices has risen significantly worldwide, due to a decision by OPEC to reduce production because of the Covid recession, and then a slow response by oil producers to ramp up production. With demand coming back strong under the Biden administration took office in Jan 21 demand has continued to outstrip supply and American oil production has found it more profitable to export oil than sell it on the domestic market. 2. The American government has little to no control over US citizens in foreign countries. The US issued warnings well in advance of the withdrawal of US forces. Trump actually signed the withdrawal agreement in Feb 20 so any American had 18 months to get out. No American has been forced to have a vaccine. Provide the evidence for this statement. Yes if you wanted to maintain your employment you may of had to have a shot, but that was your choice. Vast amounts of Americans remain unvaccinated. 3. No US serviceable military equipment was left behind. Afghan military equipment of US manufacture was captured by the Taliban, which was most unfortunate but what was the alternative take all the weapons off the Afghan army before the US left? What would you have expected to happen? I agree poor intelligence meant the US had to go back in and secure Kandahar airport, but this was always part of the planning as the US had positioned a MAU and the 82 Airborne in case of that eventuality.

Anyway a series of unsubstantiated, unproven, and nonsensical claims does not provide an argument. I personally agree with you that Biden hasn’t done enough, and neither has the rest of the world. I was particularly disappointed with India abstaining in the security council vote. Once again provide evidence anything would have been different under Trump, and don’t repeat it didn’t happen previously lack of action is not evidence of action. Using your logic I can claim Nth Korea hasn’t attacked the US because Biden is President. See its a stupid argument.

President Trump is a physical coward as displayed by his father providing a doctor who provided a medical report so he got out of the draft and military service. Straight out cowardice. Nth Korea maintains and expands its nuclear weapons. Trump achieved nothing other than some PR photos. The Obama administration killed hundreds of terrorists during his administration through drone strikes. Your point is invalid. Russian troops continued to expand and gain ground in Ukraine throughout the Trump administration, again your point is invalid. I do agree with on your last point the west has been too weak in its response, the only thing is to commit military forces. Do you think Trump would have declared war on Russia and moved troops into Ukraine?

The same thing almost certainly would have happened with Trump in the seat unless he committed US forces directly in support of Ukraine on Ukraine territory.

I wouldn’t agree that the Biden administration has been a totally disaster as there have been several economic successes and some minor legislative gains. The US response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine most certainly could have been stronger. 50 or so cruise missiles into the heart of Moscow aimed at Russian military CCI and air assets to support the Ukraine army on the ground would have been much better. What is this fixation about where the President is, wherever he is he has access at all times the military command structure, his staff and communications.

@Momoo77 The decision to leave Afghanistan was made by the Trump administration. It was called the Doha agreement and it was signed by the Trump administration in Feb 2020. It was a 4 page document and committed the US to removing all US forces and support out of Afghanistan by Mar 21. Biden had absolutely nothing to do with it, other than abiding by its terms. You can read all this on the State department website. You are just factually wrong again.

I have explained this now numerous times it is not a logical argument to suggest because something happens now it was prevented by someone's presence in the past. I could argue that the reason China hasn't invaded Taiwan is because Biden is now the President and they would have if Trump was. It is just meangless conjecture. ISIS is currently being fought against by the Kurds and Syrian forces in Syria. Trump most definitely contributed to their demise however they were already well in retreat when he became President.
