@briananderson7285 I'd like a fact check on that.
3
@briananderson7285 Can you do that?

Where do you suggest the money come from? Do we tax our iorn ore exports more? Maybe tax mining company profits more?
2
@kenlewis2353 Why because she inherited an iron ore mine?
2
@ As suspected your numbers are completely wrong. Roy Hill and Hancock prospecting paid about $2.4 billion combined in company tax, Rinheart personally didn’t pay anything like $billions in tax which would have had her having to earn $10 billion herself. That is just straight out misinformation. Gina also inherited Hope Downs and royalty payments. She has significantly grown the business but she inherited it.

@briananderson7285 Fantastic comeback.
2
Hey thanks for that I just tried it and it works.

@TheEndOfAllThings-r9q So just tax the fuck out of your average Aussie, fair enough.

$billons in personal wealth.

@briananderson7285 Yep I call bullshit on that number. Roy Hill and Hancock prospecting paid about $2.4 billion in company tax combined. Rinehart paid shit.

And how do we pay for it? Dutton has said he will borrow the money, are you happy with that?
1
@ Cool, I have no problems either with borrowing money for Defence, it’s just that generally speaking conservatives get a bit touchy when you mention borrowing money. It’s good to see you being practical.
1
@ Did you have a good ANZAC day? Ex Army myself and I have considerable different political views to yourself, but we both clearly agree on defence as a priority. Good to see we can remain respectful.
1
@Leftyintollerable Yes I can see your point. I stopped going to dawn services a few years ago because they became too religious. Priests getting up and giving religious sermons (I walked out on one). I don't mind a quick and meaningless prayer, but it had gotten out of hand around where I live. I'll try and find a non religious one next year.

How do we pay for that?

So a THAAD system costs about $1.5 billion per battery and has a range of about 200km. We would need several systems at least to cover the necessary assets. How do you expect to pay for that? The Army has recently received new SAM systems so the current governments are doing something that is at least affordable. All three services have introduced drones into service.

Oh and a THAAD missile is about $12 million a pop.
