Original model was the S-70 the new model is UH-60. Different aircraft.

Factually wrong. Our warships are armed with RIM 162 ESSM which have an excellent anti drone capability. These missiles have already shot down drones in the Red Sea. Also our DDGs have Standard SM2 SAM which again the US Navy have been using to shoot down drones. Our warships also have ESM and ECM to counter act drone attacks. I have no idea where you are getting your information from but it is manifestly wrong.

@nathantudor5763 A total order of 40 has been made which is more than the original qty we had back in 80s when they first entered service.

@nathantudor5763 The next couple of years I expect. I wasn’t having a go at you, just letting you know what the total will be. Our original Blackhawk fleet was 39, and we got less MRH90 as they were are larger aircraft and were capable of heavier lifts.

@nathantudor5763 It definitely has been problematic. My understanding is the MRH90 was not the ADF first choice as they perfered the Blackhawk. I have spoken to pilots though who reckon the MRH90 was superior to fly. Either way the government decided to replace them earlier than planned and that created supply chain issues. Nobody has covered themselves in glory in what has been an absolute mess.

@nathantudor5763 On a side note I was working in one of the aviation regiments when we were evaluating the ARHs and when the Eurotiger test pilot crashed due to pilot error and the Australian test copilot both walked away unharmed. That sold it.
