@YUDNSAY I didn't specify western democracies I only mentioned democracies but those western democracies most would normally associate are France, Germany, UK, US, Canada, Australia. You obviously don't class these as Western democracies, so whatever you call them, this is what I mean.

@robertryan2542 Why, just because we instituted some health orders and encouraged people to get vaccinated in an attempt to save lives. Just seems like commonsense to me.

@avaraxxblack5918 You clearly have no understanding of Marx or his writings. Unemployment in Australia is at near record lows, and increased welfare payments during lockdowns assisted people in financial hardship. Perfectly legal and reasonable health orders to prevent the spread of a highly contagious virus seem quite reasonable to me.

@YUDNSAY Yes I agree there is a difference between democracy as first philosophically theorised about by the ancient Greeks and how France practices it today. The true democracy you think of though is not currently practical in a large society. Technology may change that in the future.

@YUDNSAY I understand that there was differing views on how to manage the CoronaVirus pandemic, and there is no right or wrong way as long as you take ownership of the consequences of those actions. In Australia we managed to significantly reduce the potential deaths be reducing for a temporary period some lifestyle options. Governments will be held accountable for those decisions at the polls. I personally think Australia did a pretty good job.
