MICHAEL SCHUENEMANN Numerous scientific studies have proven beyond doubt the burning of fossil fuels kills significantly more wildlife than wind turbines.

Actually in fact the sun is always shining somewhere, and the wind is always blowing somewhere, and at nil cost. Batteries are not the only means of storage. No coal is burnt to power South Australia. If you are absolutely obsessed with burning something hydrogen is not far away.

@axle.australian.patriot Never said their was nil cost in renewables just that the wind and sun were free, obviously there is a cost in manufacturing and maintaining a wind turbine, there are also recycling questions that need to be answered, but after all that wind and solar are cleaner and cheaper than burning coal and getting cheaper by the day.

@axle.australian.patriot Once hydrogen is produced by green energy that is renewable the wasteful argument is negated.

@batmanlives6456 20 years ago 100% was coal power, today 60% renewable with gas and a bit of diesel. Tasmania is virtually 100% renewable and except for WA they all use the interconnectors to manage the damand for electricity that is how the system has been set up. Coal is on its way out, the market has spoken. Green renewables and technology is the future.

@axle.australian.patriot Fair cop, but Barnaby Joyce's solution to just blindly forge ahead burning coal as if all is good in the world is just head in the sand stuff. Yes there are problems with renewables, but we will work them out.

@axle.australian.patriot Nope, needs to be way faster than that, sorry but you are sounding like and apologist for the fossil fuel industry.
1
@axle.australian.patriot yep you win there can't argue against straight out self interest.

@batmanlives6456 No it is you who is under the influence of the PR machine created by the fossil fuel industry. The reality is the market has already decided and your thinking has been left behind. Renewable energy will take us into the future and yes this will require adjustments to the distribution infrastructure of which my wife works in so my experience is only second hand. Your just a Luddite, adjust and move with the future. The vested interest in green power, Yeah a clean environment.
