@johngeier8692 while not disputing the facts of your comment the concern is that rapid warming along with making some parts of the planet more arable will also make other parts unliveable. This may require vast amounts of human emigration. Is that what you want, because any reading of history shows that to be a recipe for war.

@EdOeuna yes that is exactly my point.

Yep you can always find a RWNJ if you look hard enough. Over 24000 peer reviewed scientific papers confirm Anthropogenic climate change. The atmosphere and oceans are measurable warmer now than pre Industrial age. We have known about the properties of greenhouse gases since the late 1860s. I understand you sort out specific opinions to support your bias, but that’s not how science works. Your comment makes it abundantly clear you haven’t got a clue about how science works.

@andrewcheadle948 A completely irrelevant point. I didn’t make any claim it wasn’t. You need to read the discussion thread. It’s about the overall effect of an unusually rapid warming atmosphere.

@andrewcheadle948 Considerable. The vast and overwhelming evidence is that rapid burning of fossil fuels during and post Industrial Revolution has effected the atmosphere. This can be ignored by yourself, that’s fine, but the vast majority of us wish to do something about it. Reducing the amount of fossil fuel we burn isn’t going to destroy humanity and won’t effect you, but it will make for a cleaner planet for the future. I realise you don’t give a rats arse about your future but I do.

@lawsonspedding6136 again not my point. Read the thread of the discussion. All you have done is raise a fallacious strawman argument that is dismissed as nonsense.
1
@zorot3876 Nope that is a strawman. The science tells us it will be a disaster for some. Low lying areas, and some parts of the planet will experience unbearable heat. It is possible this will cause forced mass migration. On the other side of the coin some land will become more arable so some parts of the planet may do well. History tells us that forced massed migration causes conflict. Are you happy to take that risk. Considering all we need to do is adjust the means on how we produce electricity and stop burning fossil fuels to me it’s a no brainer.
