So what was the point of interviewing a physicist? Wasn't the subject climate change? Why not ask a horse trainer, or a nurse, or a lawyer all there opinions would have been just as useless. Next time interview a climate scientist instead of wasting my time. Just more Sky news rubbish.

@sadwingsraging3044 Bill Nye is a mechanical engineer by trade and DeGrasse Tyson an astrophysicist neither is worshipped but both have an understanding of the scientific method. Your point is pithy, however fallacious in nature and illogical as a comment.
1
@joehntr3 Your information is completely wrong. There have now been several scientific papers published and peer reviewed, that have researched the over 24000 scientific papers published on climate change. There have also been a couple of scientific papers published on the methods the researchers used. Universally they conclude the planet is warming usually fast and 97% conclude it is the burning of fossil fuels adding CO2 into the atmosphere. This is fact, it is not my opinion, what would I know I'm not a climate scientist, but I can read.

@sadwingsraging3044 Jeez topping up fallacious comments with ad hominem attacks pretty much sums up all your efforts into incoherent rabble I really have trouble replying to with any substance.
1
woo chee Totally agree he would have a good understanding of how to interpret scientific data, but how many peer reviewed scientific papers on climate change has Steven Koonin published?

@peterjones4180 I'll keep that in mind this week when I complete the knee replacement on my wife, that would be just before I change the piston rods on the engine of my car. Tomorrow I will be representing myself before the Supreme Court on a property matter. Was that to subtle for you or do you get the point? Get an expert. I can be condescending as well, but you threw in so many fallacious comments it is almost impossible to respond sensibly to so many illogical comments.By the way how did you know the colour and type of our bed spread?
1
@sadwingsraging3044 Why should I pay any attention to a Swedish climate activist or American ex politician?
1
@peterjones4180 I am sure they will be entertained as you yell and abuse them too as I can only assume this is your normal discussion method. Of course a any physicist would have an understanding of scientific data, my point was why not actually get the opinion of an climate expert in the subject, however hasty generalisations about climate scientists pretty much falls into the fallacious argument category.
1
@peterjones4180 So Steven Koonin is a theoretical physicist and eminent in his field and way smarter then me, Steve Koonin however has not spent much if any of his career studying the climate. A far better choice to interview to get a more accurate opinion would have been scientist from say the field of chemistry or a geophysicist who have spent their careers studying climate. Steve Koonin was selling a book that has been widely criticised by the scientific community. I am not to sure on almost 100% model failure, I do know sea level models have been reasonably accurate in measuring the observed rise in sea levels. Repeated Ad hominem attacks again slide your arguments over into illogical rantings that are hard to respond to.
1
@peterjones4180 The IPCC advice is we humans warmed the planet and we need to keep that warming to under 2 degrees. The warming and rise in sea levels is observed. It is your agenda that is on show, no scientist is perfect, and cherry picking data from the IPCC report does not make his book right or the IPCC wrong. If I accept most climate scientists are physicists fair enough, but to have an opinion worthwhile you have got to have spent some time in the field. My wife didn't seek the advice of a neurologist to fix her knee she went to a orthopaedic surgeon. Most of the clever misinformation about climate has been cherry picking data.

@sadwingsraging3044 And finally the conspiracy theory is out. That's your argument. Paid activists pretending to be scientists have conned the world. Well you got me, you win, I have no answer to that.
