  4.  @gustaaf1892  Nobody is suggesting he wrote it, but he owns the rights to it. There consent was given when they sold the song to him.

  5.  @gustaaf1892  Yes you are correct the song writers own the song, and I was incorrect in me assertion that Farnham owned the rights to the song. However Farnham gave permission for the yes campaign to use his version of the song for free. Permission to use the song from the writers is not required as it is not being used for commercial purposes. The song writers may however gain some royalties from its use. It’s complicated as I have since found out.
