Currently there are 81 major renewable energy projects under construction in Australia with a total of 12800 Mw and $21 billion in investment. Could you please indicate how many coal/gas/nuclear plants are under construction in Australia or for that matter planned. Thanks.

Massive failure of French nuclear power plants drives up EDF debts As Le Monde further reports, the massive failure of French nuclear power plants in 2022 led to the “catastrophic” situation that expensive electricity had to be purchased on the European market to compensate for the lack of nuclear power. According to published data from EDF, nuclear power production fell by 82 billion kWh to 279 billion kWh in 2022 compared to the previous year in 2021 (361 billion kWh), reaching the lowest level in more than 30 years. All of France's neighboring countries had to help France with electricity deliveries, and the country became a net electricity importer in 2022. In addition, the French government also increased the Arenh cap to 120 billion kWh in order to protect consumers from increases in electricity prices. This forced EDF to sell an even larger share of its already low nuclear power production last year to competitors at a price well below the market price. With the increased electricity prices on the market, which climbed to more than 20 ct/kWh and sometimes reached peaks of over 40 ct/kWh, EDF's debts skyrocketed. EDF's mountain of debt rose by 50 percent within one year, from 43 billion euros (2021) to 64.5 billion euros at the end of 2022.

We had a Royal Commission in child sexual abuse. It delivered its report and recommendations only 5 years ago. Has she even read it?

@AximandTheCursed So the answer is nil, zero, zip, zilch. Not a single fossil fuel plant is under construction. There are no planned nuclear plants either. There are two proposed gas plants in SA. You aren't over the detail much are you? It must be wonderful living in your deluded little fantasy world of nuclear powered electricity in Australia.

@AximandTheCursed Queensland has already had blackouts due to the failing coal powered plants and electricity prices have already shot up as fossil fuels prices rocketed. Again what little fantasy world do you live in?

@AximandTheCursed I gave you the chance to provide some factual data and you declined. Continue to live in your nuclear fantasy world.

@AximandTheCursed What a nonsensical reply. I explained in detail the reasons why the French nuclear industry is in debt. I cherry picked nothing. I never suggested or claimed nuclear isn’t safe or reliable. I only proved beyond a shadow of a doubt it is expensive. Please continue though with your idiotic personal slurs as they are most entertaining and do so much to support your ludicrously stupid opinions.

@AximandTheCursed I cherry picked nothing. I explained in detail why EDF is in debt. Your reply is nonsensical as all you did was repeat what I already had said. The French nuclear industry is in debt to the tune of €63 billion and counting. It can't make a profit.
