Where is electricity cheaply produced by nuclear power? It is almost universally subsidised by governments in every part of the world.

@buildmotosykletist1987 The French government owned Nuclear energy corporation EDF has debts of €60billion because it subsidies the cost of its nuclear powered electricity. Which is fine but it is straight out misinformation for you to suggest it’s power is cheap.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Yep and in Ontario, Canada it seems to be working reasonably cheaply as well. So what? China, Russia, Korea, US, France, it is heavily subsidised to make it affordable. Your comment is a strawman argument as well as a cherry picked fallacy. I never suggested it can’t be done cheaply only that history proves it rarely has.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Also a point to note is electricity got so expensive in Finland because they had to import considerable amounts of it due to the lengthy delays and cost overruns of the construction of their nuclear reactors.
1
@buildmotosykletist1987 Not to labour the point but the last PWR built in Finland OLKILUOTO 3 took 17 years to construct, so assuming they break the ground to build one here tomorrow in Oz that’s 2041 before its pumping any electricity into the grid. Have you got a better example?
1
@buildmotosykletist1987 You do understand that when you calculate the cost of electricity you have to include the construction costs? I admire your continuing attempts at cherry picking data, but you entire argument is fallacious nonsense.

@buildmotosykletist1987 “Japan’s Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant Unit 6 took only 39 months for completion.” Are you really sure you what to make an example of the Japanese nuclear industry? Because that’s a brave move considering it’s been going backwards for years.
1
@buildmotosykletist1987 Factually incorrect. No extra nuclear powered electricity has been added to the grid since its peak in the mid 90s (that’s 30 years ago). Once again you are cherry picking data. Currently world wide electricity production by nuclear power is going backwards as more plants are being decommissioned than plants are going online.

@buildmotosykletist1987 I have only stated known public knowledge factual information.
