I think the stats prove this a dog whistles from the right on this. Over 71000 Olympic athletes have competed since the IOC introduced transgender rules and so far two transgender athletes have competed, one came dead last the other 47 out of 52. This isn’t an issue.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Just how many potential Olympic class athletes do you think consider transitioning in, say a year? And is it really worth fixing something that clearly isn’t broken. You quote one possible circumstance amongst over 70000 Olympic athletes. Is this really about a level playing field in sport? or something else?

@buildmotosykletist1987 Nope not a problem, currently there are approximately 50 transgender participating in college sports with a potential couple of hundred others. Still not a problem. The science is still out, although I must admit to my own mind a male that has had the advantage of male puberty tetesterone and muscle growth may have in certain sports an advantage, however as I said despite what you and I think the actual science isn’t fully in. This is not a huge problem and can be handled by each sport individually not by the heavy hand of government regulation. Sport is about inclusion not exclusion.

@buildmotosykletist1987 Also US population is 330 million with a potential transgender population of 1.3 million that is approximately 0.3% of population, not even being close to a huge problem.

@PJRayment No it is not broken as clearly demonstrated with the data compiled since 2004 when trans athletes were first allowed to compete at Olympic level. Your reply is a strawman. If it is about a level playing field then let each individual sporting body decide for themselves, after all they should be the experts in their sport. Yes you are correct in the eventual fall of western civilisation started by allowing trans athletes to compete, but I think it really started when we let women play sport, traditional it had just been us blokes. Nope the science and data refers to achievement in sport not what sex you are. Another strawman. No you think it's unfair, each sport has the expertise to decide for themselves how they wish to conduct and rule their sport, and most have. They continue to amend and evolve these rules and guidelines and attempt to treat competing individuals respectively. No problems I can see. I'm not excluding anyone.

@RB-jl2qb Principally because the issue is sport related not sex related. On the IOC committee for sex reassignment in 2015 were Ms Joanna Harper, Prof Angelica Hirschberg, Prof Maria Jose Martinez Patino, Liz Riley, and Dr Rania Elwani, so your claim that women were not represented in the IOC framework is completely false. I do take your point generally through men should butt out of women's sport.

@PJRayment I specifically limited my data and evidence to the Olympics which clearly shows there is no problem. You provide no evidence of a problem and suggest it is broken which it clearly isn't as my data proves, and then attempted to raise issues outside of Olympic sport. That's a strawman. You may have attempted to address a level playing field, but failed miserably with your point. I was taking the piss by suggesting letting women play was the beginning of the downfall of western civilisation as is no more than being inclusive of trans gender people in sport. I mean really. Never said or suggested males can become females or visa versa, another strawman. Clearly the issue for you has nothing to do with the fairness for women it is all to do with the "trans lobby", well that's your prejudice and I can't help with that. As for the rest of your reply your problems are clearly not with the fairness of sport for women but with your idealogical views on transgenderism.

@PJRayment No my comment was specifically in relation to transgender and Olympic sport and was deliberate in its narrow nature. You can attempt to enter pixies into the argument but it is still a strawman. Next point about evidence of a problem is another strawman. I mentioned nothing about men participating in women's sport, whatever a women's sport is anyway. Equestrian, sailing, luge, and badminton are all Olympic sports men and women compete in together. Once again with no problems. Your analogy is completely false as in my case the data encompasses 18 years of high intense Olympic competition and 5 Olympic games. In fact your analogy is totally ludicrous and dismissed as such. Really, tell me I have raised a strawman yeah well I know you are but what am I. Once again I just commented on one narrow absolutely factual data set of Olympic competition and transgender results. Once again, I repeat, for the umpteenth time, you can't change biological sex and nobody has ever suggested otherwise. You continually accuse me of this and it is an absolute strawman. @RB-jl2qb The committee consulted with over 250 Olympic athletes of both sexs. Dr Rania Elwani is as an example a ex Olympic swimmer who competed at the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics. She has a BA in medicine and surgery and a masters in Obstetrics and gynaecology, supported by a sports management diploma. She holds positions on the IOC and WADA. She is well qualified to make decisions about transgender guidelines in Olympic sport, considerably more than you or I.

I provided accurate Olympic competition data and a partial list of women on the IOC committee who made the the decision on transgender athletes that completely refuted your baseless accusation just because you don't agree with it. I will go away and read about the sole reference you mentioned as my mind is open, yours shut years ago.

@RB-jl2qb OK so I read Dr Hiltons response to the IOC 2004 and 2015 decisions on transgender athletes competing and yes we all agree men are larger, stronger, and faster at running. She then agrees that the science of establishing just how much if any advantage a transgender male has is undetermined. The IOC made a decision which in her opinion was based on some faulty studies but not all of them and then cites a couple of ongoing studies. So what's the problem? The IOC continues to adjust its rules and guidelines as it learns and allows transgender athletes to compete and in the meantime after 5 Olympics and over 70000 athletes including two transgender athletes nothing has changed.
