  1. Fossil fuels are only made affordable by the use of massive government subsidies, tax subsidies, and direct investment of taxpayers money in infrastructure.

  3.  @RESET1776  SA in Australia has two smelters in Port Pirie that regularly use only wind and solar.

  4.  @margaretarmstrong2445  They load shed no more so than industries that rely on coal plants on the east coast. There was the one significant blackout in 2016 caused by transmission failure not generation failure. The smelter at Port Pirie is a functional profitable business.
