  1. You ignoramus. WWI vets never wanted ANZAC day to be a public holiday. All they wanted was a solemn dawn service and then some footy and a drink with their mates. It’s people like you with absolutely no understanding of Australian history that come up with idiotic comments like this. Both my grandfathers were vets and I spent 35 years in the Army. None of us repeat non of us or any other soldier I know or have ever meet wanted or demanded ANZAC day be a public holiday. Who the hell do you think is going to serve me a beer in the RSL this ANZAC day if people aren’t encouraged to work. You you dope.
