Net zero emissions is not zero emissions. It means the CO2 emissions that are are offset by carbon capture systems.

@birgittabirgersdatter8082 That is a complete misunderstanding of the complex role CO2 and other greenhouse gases play in the warming/cooling of the atmosphere. It might be good for plants but by your logic so would an atmosphere 100% CO2 except by then humans would all be dead.

@RedDuke03 Nope you misunderstood my point. I never suggested I thought that could be the case. I even qualified my point using the phrase "by your logic". To your second point your interpretation of ice core samples from the Antarctica is simplistic and misinformed. Increasing temperature both lead and lag CO2 levels depending on whether you are talking about Northern or southern hemispheres. Your wrong. Read the following; Links between annual, Milankovitch and continuum temperature viability - Huybers and Curry, nature 2006. Global warming preceded by increasing carbon dioxide concentrations during the last deglaciation - J. Shakun 2012. A time dependant climactic feedback system involving sea ice extant, ocean temperature and CO2 - Saltzman and Moritz, Tells 1980. Once you get through those I have several more scientific papers that fully explain while what you claim on the face of it is somewhat true you are in fact completely wrong.

@CjJohns1776 Conspiracy theory layered apon paranoid delusions. I particularly enjoyed the idea that all the scientists as far back as 50 years ago have all been colluding together and you find that easier to believe than excess CO2 in the atmosphere has a warming effect. Just gold.

This is just absolute rubbish. The reason is not the cost of renewables it is because they have invested in gas, a fossil fuel to transition and now it is in short supply and the price has skyrocketed. It is a temporary supply and demand issue that is basic economics, but Latham doesn't care all he is interested in is deliberate misinformation for his own political agenda.
